The French Educational System is well known around the world for its high academic standards. In a French lycée, all general subjects are taught but emphasis is placed either on Sciences and Maths, Languages and Arts or Economics and Sociology according to the major chosen.
The system is challenging and on average a student sits in lessons for 32 hours per week and be required to provide a fair amount of homework.
At the end of the “Première”, students take a first part of Baccalauréat and in “Terminale”, the final year, they sit the full exam. After the Baccalauréat, gateway to the Higher Educational studies at a University, prep school or vocational education.
